• Colleagues at Sainsbury’s Wimbledon announce that they raised £1,252 from their fundraising activities for Sport Relief• The store raised the funds by holding cake sell, wear sports shirt day, waxing a colleague, cycling, tombola and run a mile.• On Sport Relief night of TV on Friday 23rd March, Sainsbury’s announced that they had raised over £4 million for this year’s campaign• The retailer has now raised over £60 million for Comic Relief since their sponsorship began in 1999 Colleagues at Sainsbury’s Wimbledon are celebrating after going the extra mile in their fundraising efforts for this year’s Sport Relief campaign. Following a number of sport-themed fundraising activities organised by colleagues at the store, situated in worple road, they raised in total £1,252. Sainsbury’s has raised over £4 million for this year’s campaign.Sport Relief 2012 merchandise went on sale in Sainsbury’s on 15th February, with the Sport Relief weekend taking place between Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March. Many customers supported Sainsbury’s Wimbledon fundraising activities, which began with cake sell on 23rd of March. Colleagues also took part in wear sports shirt day, waxing a colleague, cycling, tombola, run a mile which took place on Friday 23rd to Sunday 25th March.
