Afro-Caribbean Football Tournament Coming to the Gtech

A major international tournament featuring some of the top Afro-Caribbean nations is to be staged at the Gtech Community Stadium.
The Unity Cup, which was previously held 21 years ago, is returning with a series of matches in Brentford during May.
The competition, featuring the Ghana, Jamaica, Nigeria, and Trinidad and Tobago national teams, will have with two semi-finals, a third-place match and a final to be played at the Bees' home ground.
Other star players who could potentially play are Aston Villa’s Jamaican winger Leon Bailey, Napoli’s prolific Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen and Ghana’s Mohammed Kudus and Thomas Partey.
The first semi-final kicks off on Tuesday 27 May, with Trinidad and Tobago taking on Jamaica.
Brentford centre-back Ethan Pinnock could feature for the latter in the clash of the two Caribbean nations, while former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke will be in the Trinidad and Tobago dugout as head coach of the country for which he played 72 times.
The following day, two-time Unity Cup winners Nigeria face Ghana.
The four teams will play again on Saturday 31 May in a double-header at the Gtech. First, the two losing semi-finalist play to decide third place and the final will determine the winner of the Unity Cup 2025.

"But with the array of elite stars, and profile of the teams involved, this event is not only important in terms of its cultural significance but also is a reflection of the growing commercial importance of African and Caribbean football as well as the growing demographic of Black football fans within English football.”
Tickets go on sale on Tuesday 15 April at 5pm.
