This Year’s Must Have Christmas Gift 'Wild About Wimbledon'

One lucky member will win a signed copy of this stunning book

As the nights draw in and the weather turns colder and wetter it’s not easy to see Wimbledon in all her glory, but now, thanks to a new book, it is possible to experience the joys of Wimbledon from the comfort of your own armchair.

Wild About Wimbledon is a book of stunning photographs by local photographer Andrew Wilson which captures the town, the village and the common through the seasons of the year. Whether it is the morning mist hovering over Wimbledon Park or the 2012 Olympic logos adorning the pavements of the village in the summer, or the magical setting of the Windmill on the common, Andrew’s book celebrates all that is eye-catching in Wimbledon.

The introduction, by local historian Clive Whichelow, reminds us of the myriad identities of SW19 such as sporting Wimbledon, heritage Wimbledon, green Wimbledon and so on, which go to make up this intriguing and much-loved area.

The book also includes a lovely watercolour map by local artist Sally Burrough.
Andrew has successfully published six books of local photographs on Barnes, Kew and Putney, amongst others, while Clive has published several local titles including Pubs of Wimbledon Village, Local Highwaymen and the Local Mystery of Robin Hood. So prepare to rediscover Wimbledon and fall in love with it all over again.

Wild About Wimbledon would make an ideal Christmas present for anyone with an affection for this special corner of south London.
