Mayor's One Hour Hopper 'Hugely Welcomed'

Assembly Member Leonie Cooper writes to residents

The new Mayor of London’s announcement that from September he will introduce a one hour “Hopper” ticket on London’s buses and trams is hugely welcome.

So many Londoners, particularly south of the river, rely on buses to get themselves to work every day. But with bus fares disproportionately increasing under the previous Mayor, transport costs have become a heavy burden. This new ticket from Mayor Khan will offer some much needed relief for many commuters.

By making travel cheaper, the “Hopper” ticket will undoubtedly help Londoners on lower incomes. These steps, however small they may seem, make a massive contribution to helping people to stay in work. That benefits all of us.

This is a really positive first step from London’s new Mayor.
