Transport Chaos For Easter Weekend

Travel to the University Boat Races will be affected

SouthWest Trains (SWT) has advised travellers to avoid Clapham Junction over the Easter weekend as trains will not run between Clapham Junction & Barnes for all four days. This is due to the four day project to replace Fairfield Street Bridge near Wandsworth Town station.

If you are travelling by train between Clapham Junction and Barnes, your journey will be by rail replacement bus. This will cause a much longer journey for people visiting Putney & Barnes to watch the Universityl boat races on Easter Sunday (27 March).

Additional work will mean that trains will not run between London Victoria station and Clapham Junction station from Friday 25 to Monday 28 March.

SWT website states, "As a result, Clapham Junction Station is expected to be busier than usual and you may wish to avoid the station – particularly on Sunday, the day of the boat race."

Rail replacement bus stops at Clapham Junction:

Clapham Junction - Grant Road Exit - For South West Trains Customers travelling to Barnes
Clapham Junction - St John's Road Exit - For Southern Customers travelling to London Victoria
Wandsworth Town- Swandon Way Stop B
Putney - Upper Richmond Road G
