H Is For Harry

Local literacy charity hosts a Special Preview Screening of the local documentary

Wandsworth literacy charity, Learn to Love to Read, is delighted to have been given the opportunity to host a Special Preview Screening of the documentary H IS FOR HARRY on 5 February in advance of its nationwide launch in March.

Filmed locally, this ‘heartbreaking, thought provoking, often humorous’ real life film depicts the impact poor literacy can have on a child.

A spokesperson for the chairty said: "It is hard to imagine what it must be like for a child starting secondary school unable to read or write. If you are able to join us for this special preview you will be able to see for yourself".

The preview will be at the Ronald Ross Primary School SW19 6RY. Drinks served from 7.30pm, followed by the film at 8pm.

Tickets cost £5 and are available from buytickets.at/learntolovetoread/226285.

All profits from the evening will go to support the work of Learn to Love to Read, which works with local primary schools to improve literacy and develop a love of reading. Learn to Love to Read is a Christian charity, founded by Teresa Harris. It began as an outreach project from St Michael's Church in Southfields, before receiving charity status in October 2017. They currently work in Wandsworth and Merton. The charity's diverse volunteers come from across the local community. Its board of trustees is chaired by Nigel Harris, Chief Executive, Tearfund.
