Rossini's Petite Messe Solonnelle on 12th March

 

Thames Philharmonic Choir's next concert takes place in Kingston on 12 March with a performance of Petite Messe Solonnelle by January 27, 2016iefly for his operas, composed only a small number of sacred works, of which this 'Little Solemn Mass' is the best known. Its music is rich, varied and attractive, with a series of characteristic solos and ensembles; it also includes several large-scale choruses. The accompaniment is provided by two pianos and a harmonium.
