Ministry of Defence Appoints New Conservator


Mr Michael Rappolt will replace Sir Ian Andrews at WPCC

The Secretary of State for Defence has confirmed Mr Michael Rappolt as the appointed Ministry of Defence Conservator to replace Sir Ian Andrews, following a recruitment process carried out by a selection committee of the WPCC. Mr Rappolt has considerable charity and public service experience, particularly in the areas of audit, risk and corporate governance.

In taking up his position Mr Rappolt stated: “I am delighted and honoured to have been appointed a Conservator of Wimbledon and Putney Commons by the Secretary of State for Defence. I love the Commons and have been walking my dogs on them daily for almost 40 years. I want to give something back and believe I can contribute and add value in areas where the WPCC have needs. I look forward to working with the other Conservators and the dedicated staff helping to preserve this complex but wonderful natural environment for current and future stakeholders”.
