Cannizaro House Venue For Haiti Art Auction

Artists donate work for charity auction

Fourteen works of arts have now been submitted for a charity auction in aid of communities affected by the earthquake in Haiti, taking place at Cannizaro House on Wimbledon Common on Monday September 27.

Some of the works, including "A Long Way From Home 1 and 2" by Susan Mensah, who lives in Wimbledon, have a local connection. David Brett's contribution is a vivid portrayal of Battersea at dusk.

All the proceeds from the auction, which is being organised by Christian Aid and Cannizaro House, will go towards funds being raised to help rebuild communities in Haiti.

There will be a silent auction which will begin on the night at 7pm, with bids being accepted until 9pm. The auctioneer will be Guy Charrison, Fellow of the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers.

The night, which will cost £20, will also include sparkling wine and canapes as well as music from Emilia Martensson - a jazz singer who has performed at venues as illustrious as Ronnie Scott's.
