New Chair For Local Muslim Association


AGM at the Civic Centre

The British Muslim Association of Merton (BMAM) recently held its AGM and election for its Executive Committee at Merton Council's Civic Centre.

Mr Abdul Latif, a Chartered Engineer, was unanimously elected as incoming Chairman, replacing Mr Saleemullah Sheikh  OBE. Abdul is also the Chair of Willmore End Residents Association (WERA). 

The AGM was chaired by the Deputy Mayor of Merton, Councillor Chris Edge. Guests of honour, who addressed the AGM, were the MP for Mitcham & Morden Ms Siobhan McDonagh and Leader of the Council Councillor Stephen Alambritis.

Councillor Ian Munn and a large number of BMAM members also attended the AGM.
