Armed Robbery In Wimbledon Bar

Staff forced to hand over night's takings

Armed robbers forced staff at a Wimbledon town centre bar to hand over the evening's takings.

The robbers had made their way to the back of Henry J Bean’s Bar and Grill on The Broadway in the early hours of Monday July 19.

They were armed with knives and forced the staff remaining at the venue to open the safe. No one was hurt.

Police were alerted at around 1.55am and when they arrived, the suspects had already made off from the scene with a large quantity of cash from the evenings takings.

The gang were described as four men, aged in their 20s, wearing dark clothing, with their faces covered.
