Family release tribute after accident

A Wimbledon family has paid tribute to a father-of-three who was killed when the BMW he was driving collided into a gate and a tree.

Mark Patten (left), aged 43, from Burstow Road, Wimbledon Chase, died at the scene of the accident at 12.30am on Saturday night in Chalfont St Peter, Buckinghamshire.

A 32-year-old man, who was in the front passenger seat, was also killed. He has yet to be named, but police, who are appealing for witnesses, said he was "local" to the crash area.

A rear seat passenger in the BMW730i suffered minor injuries and was taken to Wexham Park Hospital. He has since been discharged.

Mr Patten's family have released the following statement: "Mark will be sadly missed by his three lovely children, mother, brother, sister and all that knew him.

"Mark would do anything or help anyone if he could he was kind natured, friendly and funny. He will never be forgotten.

"Fondly remembered by all who knew him. Mark rest in peace from all your family and friends."
