Witness Plea After Violent Attack In Wimbledon Park


Brave female passer-by also being sought

Police are urgently seeking witnesses to a violent attack on a young woman in a Wimbledon Park - including a brave female passer-by who stepped in to intervene.

The victim had a push chair and small child with her when she was attacked in South Park Gardens in Kings Road at 11am on Thursday May 27.

She was left with a bad eye injury following a confrontation with an 18-year-old man. He was said to be black, and wearing a black baseball cap.

The victim was a white, blonde-haired woman. She was helped by a white woman with blonde hair and glasses between the ages of 25-30 who was walking a Labrador-type dog.

The victim said this passer-by intervened in the assault and then escorted the victim to Wimbledon station.
