Officers said to be responding to a "suspicious incident"
Armed police were spotted near the Tandem shopping centre in Colliers Wood today (March 16) after police received reports of a "suspicious incident".
Dozens of officers gathered near Starbucks, close to Chapter Way, from 9.30am.
A police helicopter was also seen hovering around South Wimbledon soon afterwards.
Police would not be drawn on the reasons for the activity, other than that they were called to a "suspicious incident".
