Special event takes place on Saturday
"Making Colliers Wood Happy!" was launched as a community building group in February 2006, and now it's celebrating its birthday with a special event on Saturday (February 21).
Since its birth, it has launched a Community Choir, the Ukulele Orchestra, jazz, ballet, tap and ballroom dance classes, and many more weekly and monthly activity groups and events for people of all ages from different cultural backgrounds .....plus community picnics, multi-cultural events and the Colliers Wood Spring Arts Festival.
The celebration event is at St Joseph's Hall from 7.30pm on Saturday (February 21).
There will be fun and games, then chance to reflect on:
1. Those things that have been successfully accomplished over the past nine years.
2. Those things that could be done better in future.
3. Ideas for events, activities and new groups that will continue to build community cohesion, celebrate diversity and promote creativity in Colliers Wood.
4. Fund-raising ideas and governance.
5. AOB.
And then an opportunity to share party pieces and karaoke songs!
Refreshments will be available throughout the evening.
