Wimbledon-Based Artist Inspires Debut Novel

Book will be launched at the Polka Theatre

A radical Chinese artist, who now lives in Wimbledon, takes centre stage in a book that is launched in the town's Polka Theatre.

Qu Leilei was a member of 'The Stars' art movement that had its birth in Communist China in 1979.

The new book - 'Brushstrokes in Time' by Sylvia Vetta - is a debut novel that weaves real events and the creative minds of The Stars.

Sylvia's encounter with Qu Leilei and the story he told her, inspired her to write the novel.

  • Brushstrokes in Time has its London launch at the Polka Theatre, Broadway, Wimbledon at 7.15pm on March 3. It's a free event, but please RSVP sylviavetta@gmail.com.
