Celebrate Chinese New Year In Wimbledon


A special event on the town centre Piazza

Chinese New Year will be marked in Wimbledon town centre with a celebration on The Piazza on Friday and Saturday (February 8 and 9).

There will be a colourful and traditional lion dance, as well as a a chance to get your name in calligraphy by a professional calligraphy artist, and enjoy some traditional freshly cooked Chinese food.

The London Jing Kun Opera Association.The lion dance will visit Centre Court shopping centre, so providing a celebration of Chinese New Year to all in Wimbledon town centre.

On Saturday you can have your face painted Chinese Opera Style (12.30-3.30pm) by the renowned Kathy Hall from The London Jing Kun Opera Association.

Love Wimbledon has also partnered with Polka Theatre to enter a Chinese New Year competition to win tickets to see the Polka Theatre’s play 'Why the Lion Danced'.
