Chris Edge is a Conservative councillor again
A Wimbledon councillor who left the Merton Conservative group nearly a year ago after the annual 'mayor-making' has returned to the group.
Chris Edge (right), who represents Dundonald Ward, left the group in May 2013 after he was suspended. He continued to work as a councillor, but was an Independent.
He was one of four councillors who voted against Conservative Krystal Miller becoming Mayor of Merton last year. She was still elected by a 49-strong majority.
But the Conservatives have announced he is now back in their group.
Conservative group leader Oonagh Moulton said: "I am delighted to have Chris back as a member of our group. I look foward to working closely with him towards our shared goal of gaining victory for Merton Conservatives in May's local elections."
