Learn More About Colliers Wood

Residents meet on May 1

For a chance to hear more about the £3.5m plans to improve the "public realm" of Colliers Wood, you can attend the next Residents' Association meeting.

The guest speakers at the meeting on Tuesday May 1 include local resident and architecture student, Alex Holloway, who will give a presentation and leading a discussion about how the funding from the Mayor's Office could be used.

Doug Napier, Head of Merton's Parks and Open Spaces, will also attend to hear views about the Management Plan for the Recreation Ground.

Asheq Akhtar, Merton's Arts Development Officer, will talk about local events around the Jubilee and Olympics, including the torch relay coming down Colliers Wood High Street.

And there will be updates on the Community Gardening Project and also a successful bid for £11,000 from the Positive Activities Fund which will provide activities for young people in Colliers Wood during the term-time and school holidays.

The meeting takes place from 7.30pm-9.30pm in Colliers Wood Community Centre.
