Block of Flats Damaged By Fire in Wimbledon


Four fire engines tackle blaze on third floor of building on Raymond Road

The third floor of a block of flats on Raymond Road, Wimbledon has been damaged by a fire which broke out this Thursday morning (9 March).

Four fire engines and around 20 firefighters and officers were called to the scene. One man left the property before their arrival.

The Brigade was called at 10.07am and the fire was under control at 11.25pm. Fire crews from Wimbledon, New Malden, Mitcham and Battersea fire stations are at the scene.

The cause of the fire is currently unknown.
