Help Keep The Wandle Clean

Local community clean-up on February 10

The Wandle Trust organises community clean-ups of the River Wandle on the second Sunday of every month, rotating between the boroughs of Merton, Sutton and Wandsworth.

The next clean-up is at a new venue in Merton and it takes place on Sunday February 10 in Wandle Park, Colliers Wood, when volunteers will be playing their part in helping keep the water in the Wandle some of the cleanest in London.

The Wandle Trust tent will be set up in the middle of the park, close to the backwater. The nearest postcode is SW19 1UR. If you get lost on the way, call Jo on 07586 861425.

The nearest station is Colliers Wood, and the clean-up starts 11am and it is likely to go on for four hours. Tea, coffee and cake will be provided during a refreshment break at 1pm.

Organisers supply a limited number of waders, plus protective gloves and First Aid facilities, but ask volunteers to bring their own wellies and wear old clothes. For further information about clean-ups, email cleanups@wandletrust.org or see www.wandletrust.org.
