Traffic Chaos After Car Collides With Wandle Park Gate

Jams stretch through South Wimbledon and Colliers Wood

There were delays this afternoon (January 27) on the A24 Merton High Street through South Wimbledon and Colliers Wood after an accident at the gates of Wandle Park.

A car collided with the park fence at the busy junction near the Priory Retail Park. The driver was taken to hospital, but is thought to have escaped with minor injuries.

TfL put out a traffic alert warning the junction was partly closed and to expect delays in the area.

The junction was recently re-modelled during long-running roadworks.
