Health and Wellbeing Festival To Be Held in Cannizaro Park


A chance for a weekend of inner peace after a tumultuous year

The Friends of Cannizaro Park are bringing some more positive vibes to the summer with the return of the ICANN Health and Well Being Festival for one weekend commencing Friday 11 June.

In addition to the programme from last year, which included a variety of yoga classes, pilates, meditation and Breathwork Therapy, there will be an introduction to the foundation of Tai Chi with a new Qigong and Tai Chi class.

The programme will be led by local specialists who will be addressing a range of health and well-being concerns. Within the tranquil setting of the Italian Garden, there will be a total of 11 different classes to choose from, held in a safe and socially distanced environment.

The Festival begins with pilates and yoga specifically aimed at those who have spent too much time at your desk in front of a computer screen.

If you are looking for a more dynamic experience there is a selection of yoga and pilates throughout the weekend. Kerry and Charles return with their introduction to Breathwork Therapy.

Friday 11 June

17.00 – 18.00 Pilates to Unwind Your Week. Jeannie Di Bon. Movement Therapist and Hypermobility Specialist. Relaxation and mindful movement.

18.30 – 19.30 Yoga to Unwind and Relax. Alex Reed from Good Life Yoga. Playful Yoga to help release tension. Gentle.

Saturday 12 June

09.00 – 10.00 Morning Mood Enhancing Meditation. Tish Dodson from Jiva Health. No experience required.

10.30 – 11.30 Pilates for Posture. Jacqueline Pye from Suzanne Pilates. Release, unwind and strengthen. Free your body from tension.

12.00 – 13.00 Yoga for Walkers and Runners. Tish Dodson from Jiva Health. Corrective movement. Learn the micro moves in feet, knees, hips and core and shoulders to aid walking, running and better Yoga practice.

14.00 – 15.00 Laughter Yoga. Tish Dodson from Jiva Health. Invigorate your brain, stimulate your immune system. Aid circulation. Ends with deep relaxation.

15.30 – 16.30 Hatha Yoga Flow for All. Tish Dodson from Jiva Health. Relax and unwind with a gently Yoga practice. Working through your alignment, twists to support digestive system and a soothing relaxation.

17.00 – 18.00 Osteobreath-Breathwork Therapy. Kerry and Charles Dowson. Help support inner change, give mental clarity and release retained stress and anxiety.

Sunday 13 June

09.30 – 1030 Qigong and Tai Chi. James Norman from j-taichi. Keep fit through motion and tranquillity. Introduction to the foundation of Tai Chi – Balance. All levels of fitness welcome.

11.00 – 12.00 Hatha Yoga Flow. Alex Reed from Good Life Yoga. Energizing.

12.30 – 1.30 Pilates for Posture. Suzanne Arnold form Suzanne Pilates. Free your body from tension. Release, unwind and strengthen.

All classes are priced at £10 each and all participants must be over 18. Please bring your own mat or rug. Hotel du Vin will be open for refreshments.
