An exhibition of paintings by the Danish marine artist Ken Zier is taking place at Wimbledon Fine Art this month.

Thesmajor exhibition of recent oil paintings by the artist includes a variety of seascapes, meteorological studies on the weather's effect on the sea and sky and night paintings of coastal towns

Ken Zier was born in 1968 in Aarhus. He has had a long family connection with painting and the sea and his grandfather Wolmer Zier was also a marine painter. His family have been keen yachtsmen for generations and Ken always drew on their summer trips. He later switched to oils to do a number of ship portraits. Gradually, the ships faded into the background with the sea itself becoming the subject of his paintings.

He has been painting professionally since 1995 and has held extensive exhibitions in both Europe and the United States.

The exhibition runs from 10 June to 25 June at Wimbledon Fine Art, 41 Church Road, SW19 5DQ
