Former Merton Police Boss Loses Appeal Against Dismissal

Wimbledon-based Borough Commander fired after inappropriate behaviour

Former Merton police boss Darren Williams has lost an appeal against his dismissal after an investigation found him guilty of inappropriate behaviour towards female colleagues.

He was Borough Commander, based at Wimbledon Police Station, until he was suspended on full pay in January 2014 after complaints about his behaviour.

The Detective Chief Superintendent (pictured right) was dismissed from the Met in April 2015 after a hearing in which he pleaded guilty to five allegations of misconduct.

The panel which heard the case found that his actions together amounted to gross misconduct, and he was sacked after the hearing.

Now another hearing, which took place on January 28, dismissed his appeal against the judgement.
