Improve Your Motorbike Skills In Merton

Free courses to keep you safe on the road

Merton is encouraging residents to sign up to its free motorcycle courses.

Courses are available to beginners and experienced riders of scooters and motorbikes. People who live or work in the borough can take part.

People taking advantage of the courses learn about spotting road hazards, suitable clothing and safe riding skills. On completion the rider will gain a formal Compulsory Basic Training (CBT) certificate. A Police Bike Safe assessment for more experienced drivers is also available.

The courses are part of the London-wide Right Gear initiative, which promotes safe riding skills.

Cabinet member for environmental sustainability and regeneration, Councillor Andrew Judge, said: "We are keen to give residents all the help they need to be safe on the road. The courses are an invaluable learning resource for any scooter or motorbike rider in the borough."
