Fun And Fitness At Centre Court

Free sessions with beauty and fitness gurus

Wimbledon's Centre Court Shopping Centre is set to host a series of beauty and fitness events with a touch of showbiz magic to help visitors get in shape and boost confidence.

Free sessions are on offer from fitness guru Steve Rich (right) who has helped transform the life of Hollyoaks star Mikyla Dodd and worked with dance group Diversity, as well as spending 10 years as a dancer with groups including Take That and the Spice Girls.

Shoppers can join in with the trainer, gain expert beauty tips and be in with a chance of winning gym membership during the initiative from 12.30pm on both Saturday March 5 and Sunday March 6.

The following stores have joined forces to provide the free sessions to help customers improve their health and confidence: Boots No.7, Debenhams, The Body Shop, GNC, Crabtree & Evelyn, Estee Lauder, Smashbox Cosmetics, Clarins, Virgin Holidays, Esporta Health Club and Toni & Guy.

Throughout the weekend, there are 20 minute free presentations each day covering beauty essentials, hair styling and make-up as well as keep fit sessions hosted by trainer and former dancer Steve and TV presenter Laura Schofield.

Laura (left) is best known for her work on ITV 1's The Zone. She started her career as an assistant for Trinny and Susannah on What not to wear. Steve gained acclaim for his work with Mikayla Dodd helping her lose three stone in three months.

Centre Court marketing manager Samantha Brown said: "This fun weekend includes interactive keep fit sessions, quick and easy hair styling tips and expert guidance on image and make up. We're delighted to welcome experts of the calibre of Steve and Laura whose work has been so influential in showbiz circles.

"In particular it's great to know that for both of these respected experts, the emphasis is on fun.

"Everyone feels better when they look better, so it’s important to look after you, not just everyone else and stay fit in body, mind and spirit.  Our Fit and Fabulous event gives you the chance to re-shape and style your look for spring 2011.

"We felt March was just the right time as new year’s resolutions about health and exercise are so often abandoned by then. People hit the gym in January, flag in February and moan in March!"

A prize draw will also take place with two gym membership passes and 12 personal trainer sessions worth more than £1, 000 each to be won from Esporta Health Club, a £250 voucher from Virgin Holidays and any spa treatment up to £87.50 also from Esporta.
