Wimbledon Pub Gives Drinkers A Hand

Beer festival at the Hand in Hand

The Hand in Hand pub on the edge of Wimbledon Common recently held a beer festival with a range of events to entice real ale drinkers.

One of the festival's highlights was an evening with beer broadcaster and writer Melissa Cole (left), who guided drinkers through a range of different beers on offer.

The festival opened with an evening for members of the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) who had a tutored tasting night of beers from as far afield as Cornwall (Sharp's Cornish Coaster), Cardiff (Brains' Dark Mild) and Oxfordshire (Hook Norton's Old Hooky).

Duncan Sambrook, of Sambrook's Brewery, in Battersea, also came along to give his expert advice. His Sambrook Junction beer was included in the tasting.

The events also included a visit by the Wimbledon-based Greensleeves Morris Men.
