James Hunt's Wimbledon Home Up For Sale


It's on the market for nearly £6m

The Wimbledon house owned by former Formula One world champion James Hunt has been put up for sale for £5.75m.

The six-bedroom house (right) in Bathgate Road, near Wimbledon Common was his home for more from 1982-1993.

He was known for driving his Austin A35 van around the area before he died of a heart attack at the age of 45.

His former home has more than 7,000sq ft of accommodation, three reception rooms, an indoor swimming pool and a library.

The description by estate agent Knight Frank reads: "This substantial arts and crafts house offers great space over two floors and sits in approx half an acre of wonderful landscaped and mature gardens.

"There is excellent entertaining space including a large drawing room with character fireplace, library, dining room, family room plus a study. Unusually all the bedrooms are on one floor and there is a second staircase linking the two floors.
