It Could Be "Yes, No Or Very Good" As W1A Star Comes To Wimbledon

Jessica Hynes plays brand guru in hit BBC comedy series

W1A star Jessica Hynes will be at Merton Arts Space in Wimbledon tomorrow (October 14) for an event to celebrate National Libraries Week.

Jessica is currently appearing in the BBC television comedy as brand consultant Siobhan Sharpe – a role for which she won a BAFTA in 2015. She has worked as an actor and writer for more than two decades and was one of the creators and stars of British sitcom Spaced, for which she won two British Comedy Awards.

She will be interviewed in Merton Arts Space in Wimbledon Library on Saturday (October 14) by Jonathan Humphries, Artistic Director of the Mitcham-based Attic Theatre Company.

The event is part of the London Libraries Festival, which runs between 11 – 14 October and National Libraries Week, between 9-14 October.

The discussion will be introduced by Anthony Hopkins, who is the head of Merton Council’s library service. Anthony is also the President of the Association of Chief Librarians, the organisation behind the London Libraries Festival.

Merton Council’s Cabinet Member for Community and Culture, Councillor Nick Draper, said: “We are delighted to welcome Jessica Hynes to Merton Arts Space for what promises to be an interesting discussion. This exciting event in the borough’s newest arts venue, at the heart of our busiest library, is an excellent way to celebrate National Libraries Week and a fitting close to the London Libraries Festival. I would urge people to reserve their tickets quickly while there are still places left.”

Tickets for the event in Merton Arts Space, Wimbledon Library on Saturday 14 October at 11am (a change from the previously advertised 6pm), are free but places must be booked in advance through Eventbrite.
