Review: Dance Along With the Cast At New Wimbledon Theatre

'Keep Dancing' will give you an entertaining evening

‘Keep Dancing’ showing at New Wimbledon Theatre is energetic, effervescent, engaging and a very entertaining evening.

Most of the well-known ballroom dances were included in the show but there were also some modern routines and the costumes were bright and colourful.

The ensemble of dancers had an energy to be admired since they were on stage for the majority of the time although some of the routines were danced by smaller groups or pairs.

The dancers were admirably supported by singers Adam Warrington, Lisa-Marie Homes and Harriette Mullen, all of whom had their own time on stage, as did percussionists Joëlle Barker and Adam Green.

Guest dancers were current Strictly Come Dancing champions Jay McGuiness and Aliona Vilani who performed several routines including a somewhat familiar jive!

Robin Windsor stole the show for me, particularly due to a lovely rumba with his partner Anya Garnish and a sultry Argentine Tango but more so with a wonderful all-male Paso doblé which raised the roof.

Both joined the ensemble for several dances but I think the audience’s favourite was a handclap routine following a very fast and furious Charleston.

By the finale, the audience were on their feet, dancing along with the cast.

A great night not to be missed if you love dancing, whether or not you are a Strictly fan.

  • Keep Dancing runs at New Wimbledon Theatre until Saturday (September 18)
