Lombok Goes Into Administration

Wimbledon branch of furniture store closes

The Lombok furniture chain, which has a shop in Wimbledon town centre, has gone into administration this week(August 15).

It has closed nine of its stores, including the one in St George's Road.

Established over ten years ago, the name derives from an Indonesian island and their handmade furniture and homeware had a loyal following.

The three remaining outlets - its clearance store in Fulham, shops in Yorkshire and Tottenham Court Road and a concession store inside the Oxford Street House of Fraser - will remain open. Its website is also still trading.

These have been bought out of administration by Lombok's owner, Angora.

The other stores being closed are in Guildford, Hampstead, Brighton, Leamington Spa, Kingston, Bluewater, Chiswick and London's Kings Road. No details on job losses have yet been announced.
