Make Your Vote Count In Merton

Be sure you are registered to have a General Election vote

National Voter Registration Day saw local residents being encouraged to register to vote for the upcoming General Election.

It is now the responsibility of each individual to add their name to the electoral register following a change to the voter registration system.

Most people who are already registered to vote will not need to do anything.

However, residents will need to register if:

  • They have received a letter telling them to re-register
  • They have changed address since receiving a letter confirming they were registered
  • They have moved into/within Merton recently.

Under the new system residents can now register online by visiting www.gov.uk/register-to-vote and entering their current address, date of birth and national insurance number.

Residents who don't have access to a computer can visit one of Merton's libraries or contact electoral services on 020 8274 4901.
