Police investigate his unexplained death

A 32-year-old man found lying on a pavement in Wimbledon died of multiple injuries, police have revealed.

They were called to Durnsford Road at 4.31am on Saturday (January 31) and found an unresponsive man. London Ambulance Service were also alerted and the man was pronounced dead at 4.59am.

A police spokesman said: "A post-mortem examination took place on Sunday, 1 February at St George's Hospital and gave the death as multiple injuries. Further tests are required.

"Formal identification has yet to take place and will be scheduled in due course. Next of kin have been informed."

Police in Merton are investigating his death, with the help of the Homicide and Major Crime Command.
