Chance To Meet The Wimbledon Manager

Dons get set for new League season

AFC Wimbledon's curtain-raiser to the new season - a chance to meet manager Terry Brown - takes place at Kingsmeadow on Thursday July 14.

The evening, which starts at 6pm, will include Terry talking through the play-off shoot-out penalties, which took Dons back into the Football League.

Limited supplies of a DVD of the shoot-out match and the new 'third' kit will also be on sale.

Terry's penalty shoot commentary (possibly including his own celebratory penalty) will start at about 7.30pm, followed by a question and answer session.

And Wimbledon will also celebrate their promotion with a party at the Civic Centre in Morden on Thursday July 7. The Mayor of Merton, Leader of the council and other councillors will attend the invitation-only event, along with AFC Wimbledon officials, team management and volunteers.

Leader of Merton Council, Councillor Stephen Alambritis said: "We are extremely proud of AFC Wimbledon's recent achievements which are testament to the hard work they have put into the club and their style of play. Everyone's aspiration is now to bring them back to the borough as soon as is possible."

Wimbledon Chief Executive Erik Samuelson said: "It is great to be celebrating our promotion in Merton. Wimbledon is our historic home and we are actively seeking a stadium back in the borough.

"Until then, Morden is the place where all our fans can come and see our extensive memorabilia. We look to the future with renewed optimism and thank Merton for their support."
