Local artists and craft-makers open their doors
Merton's artists and craft-makers welcome you into their houses and studios during the last two weekends of September, giving art lovers a unique opportunity to visit and chat with their creative neighbours — or even to buy a piece of original artwork direct from the artist.
A whole range of talent will be on show. Not only drawing and painting, but sculpture, photography, printmaking, ceramics, jewellery and textiles too.
Visit the Merton Arts Trail website to map out your own Trail around the borough, from Wimbledon and Raynes Park through Mitcham and Morden, and across to Colliers Wood.
This open house festival is free for everyone during the weekends of 19 & 20 and 26 & 27 September. And there's a fun weekend planned to launch the Arts Trail on 12 & 13 September where you'll have the chance to get creative yourself and 'Have a Go'.
It'll be the fifth trail since it was set up by
founders and Wimbledon-based artists Wendy Bliss and Chrissie Craig. The 2014 trail received more than 6,000 visits.
