Build your network at lauch event
This year's Merton Best Business Awards will be opened to entries from all the borough's businesses on Thursday (March 12).
Local businesses, sponsors and winners from last year will attend the launch gathering at Taste Restaurant, South Thames College, at the Merton Campus in London Road.
Diana Sterck, Chief Executive of awards organisers, Merton Chamber of Commerce, said: "The economy is doing well so far but we must be prepared as there are significant risks. Uncertainty due to the general election, public sector spending cuts and the Eurozone debacle are looming on the horizon as significant shocks.
"One of the best ways for businesses to be resilient against external shocks is to build a local network of positive winning businesses. Our awards provide a tried and tested way of making connections, where relationships can be built in a relaxed atmosphere."
Last year's overall Business of the Year, sponsored by WSM, business advisory and accounting services, was New Wimbledon Theatre.
The launch event at Taste Restaurant will be held from 6pm-8pm. It is free for all borough businesses to attend, but booking is required to reserve a place.
