Businesses: Give Your Views On Council Budget

Merton council asks businesses for opinions

Merton is asking local business ratepayers for their views on the council’s business plan for 2014-18.

A consultation meeting will be held at the Civic Centre on Thursday 13 February, 6pm where local businesses can discuss the plan with Merton Council Leader, Councillor Stephen Alambritis. Other councillors and officers will also be there to join in the discussion.

At the meeting local business people will take a look at the details in the business plan, the proposed budget for 2014/15 and the medium term financial strategy for years 2014-18. The feedback from the consultation will be considered as part of the business plan to be approved at full council on 5 March 2014.

Councillor Stephen Alambritis said: "The council has a good relationship with many businesses in the borough and continues to demonstrate its support for local enterprise. We value their opinion, which is why we are inviting them to take part in this consultation.

"We have been voted Best Achieving Council because of our professional and business-like approach to delivering our services, so being business-like, we fully respect the value of input into the development of our business plan."
