Have your real Christmas tree recycled for free
Christmas tree recycling will start in Merton from Monday January 11.
The council will collect and compost your real Christmas tree for free. Please remove any decorations and place your tree at the front edge of your property on January 10.
Your tree must be placed where it can be clearly seen from the road, but not on the pavement. Trees will be collected from January 11 until January 24.
If you put your tree out later than January 10, they cannot guarantee collection.
The trees they collect are either composted or turned into chippings which will be used as a mulch to spread on flower beds.
You can also take your Christmas tree to the Garth Road Reuse and Recycling Centre, and place it in the green waste for composting.
