Council Consults With Merton Firms

Chance to discuss the planned budget

Merton Council is holding a consultation meeting for business ratepayers at the Civic Centre on Monday (February 13).

It is inviting any businesses that wish to discuss budget proposals with Leader of the Council, Councillor Stephen Alambritis, councillors and officers to come along at 6pm.

The council is consulting with Business Ratepayers on the Business Plan 2012-16, including the Budget for 2012/13 and Medium Term Financial Strategy 2012-16, to give Merton businesses the opportunity to review and comment on the details in the Business Plan.

Details of the proposed Business Plan will be considered by Cabinet on February 20 and posted on the council's website after the meeting.

"This is a great opportunity for our local businesses to tell us what they think about budget proposals in the Business Plan," said Councillor Stephen Alambritis. "The more we know about what our business community thinks about this vital part of our future, the better."

The outcomes of the consultation will be considered as part of the Business Plan being approved by the council on 7 March.
