Merton's Family Learning Festival in October

Merton Adult Education (MAE) is calling on residents to get involved in a range of free events at this year's Family Learning Festival starting on October 4.

Throughout October, family focused learning events are being run by Merton Adult Education across the borough in children's centres, schools, learning venues and libraries.

From creating Japanese comic characters and family photography to science and learning French, there is an event to suit the interests of every family member at the annual festival. To sign up, families can call Merton Adult Education on 020 8274 5222.

All Family Learning Festival events are free and offered to adult members of the family and their children. The adult member could be a parent, carer, grandparent, aunt, uncle or an adult brother or sister.

Cabinet member for education, Councillor Martin Whelton, said: "It is really great to see a festival that celebrates and encourages families to learn together and have fun. I would encourage as many people as possible to get involved in this year’s festival and sign their family up for a class."
