Get Involved In Big Jubilee Lunch

Bring your ideas this weekend

Merton residents are being called to come to the Civic Centre, Morden, this weekend to find out how they can get involved in this year's Big Jubilee Lunch.

Everyone is invited to the Civic Centre on Saturday March 24 from 11.30am-1.30pm to find out how they can be part of The Big Jubilee Lunch, which will be happening nationwide this summer.

Residents are invited to bring along a cold dish to share with others as they hear about the importance of community cohesion, how to organise street parties, and what they can look forward to in The Big Lunch.

To book a place for Saturday, residents should contact Claire Walshe on: claire.walshe@merton.gov.uk or: 0208 545 4069.

Merton cabinet member for community and culture, Councillor Martin Whelton, said:  "I hope lots of people will come along this Saturday to find out about how they can be part of this massive community event. Merton supports The Big Jubilee Lunch, when everyone across the UK will come out of their homes and lunch with their neighbours.

“Our borough has a great sense of community and I hope as many residents as possible will join in on the big day and making the most of this Jubilee summer."
