Olympic Recruitment Drive In Merton

Two-week marathon for local recruiters

The largest ever volunteer recruitment event - interviewing potential Olympic guides - has been underway in Merton for the past two weeks.

Volunteer Centre Merton has been the venue for interviews for 700 people who want to become London Ambassadors.

A group of 30 volunteer recruiters have been undergoing the recruitment marathon at The Vestry Hall in Mitcham, matching people to the London Ambassador criteria laid down by the London Development Agency.

London Ambassadors will be posted around key transport hubs and tourist attractions across London - including Wimbledon. They will help visitors find and enjoy the best that the city has to offer during the Olympics.

Volunteer Centre Merton has been one of ten London recruitment hubs, with 16,000 people being interviewed across the capital for to select the team of 8,000.
