The Joy Of Singing To Be Celebrated In Wimbledon

The first Merton SingFest takes place this weekend

The first Merton SingFest, a new choral festival based on a collaboration between Wimbledon Choral Society, the Merton Music Foundation and Wimbledon's new professional chamber choir, Sonoro, is taking place this weekend.

The main objective of the SingFest is to showcase singing across the borough, emphasising that there are singing groups for all levels and interests: from the likes of Wimbledon Community Chorus to smaller groups like the Trinity URC church choir.

It starts today (October 13) and runs until Tuesday (October 17), with a number of events taking place in Wimbledon.

There's a 'celebration of choirs' at St John's Church in Spencer Hill, Wimbledon SW19 4NZ, where all the borough's choirs join together. This is a free event in three sessions tomorrow (October 14) at 11am, 1pm and 3pm.

There are also events at the following Wimbledon venues -Merton Arts Space, St Mark's Church and Sacred Heart Hall.
