Milkman Mick Delivers His Final Pint

He's served customers from the Wimbledon depot for 38 years

Dairy Crest milkman Mick Hamilton has delivered his last pint of milk, after 38 years as a milkman at the Wimbledon depot.

Mick, who has been serving customers in the Morden area for 35 years, has handed over the ‘milk-bottle-baton’ to his colleague Stephen Kennedy, who has also been a milkman for over 15 years.

Mick refers to his customers as his ‘extended family’ and has even been invited to family parties and weddings! Mick regularly goes above and beyond to help customers wherever he can, and having done the same round for 35 years, became important in the local community, taking part in charity walks as well as alerting medical services, when he found any of his customers unfit or unwell whilst on his round.

In his career as a milkman, Mick (pictured below) has walked thousands of miles and he is therefore keen to keep active in his retirement and plans to join a local rambling club and take up golf.

Trevor Sayer, Depot Manager at Wimbledon said: "Mick's bubbly personality and enthusiasm for the job will be missed, he has always shown exemplary customer service and he has also been an important member of our team here at Wimbledon. We’ll miss him incredibly but we wish him well."
