Morden House Badly Damaged By Fire


One person flees from the blaze

A house in Morden was badly damaged by fire on Wednesday (December 19), with one occupant suffering from the effects of smoke inhalation.

Twenty firefirefighters from Wimbledon, Mitcham and Sutton were called to the fire on Midway, next to Epsom Road, at 1.05pm.

The roof was destroyed in the blaze and the ground and first floors of the house were severely damaged. One person, who escaped the property before the arrival of the brigade, was suffering from smoke inhalation.

The fire was under control by 2.48pm, with firefighters remaining for some time to damp the property down.
