Husband watches her brief appearance in court

The mother of three disabled children found dead at their home in New Malden appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates' Court today (April 25) charged with their murder.

Tania Clarence, aged 42, was arrested on Tuesday after the bodies of Olivia, 4, and twins Ben and Max, 3, were found at their home in Thetford Road.

She was remanded in custody during the brief hearing and will next appear at the Old Bailey on April 29.

Her husband Gary Clarence, a senior executive with City bank group Investec, watched his wife's appearance in court. It is understood he was in South Africa with their eldest daughter at the time of the alleged murders. The eldest daughter is believed to attend school in Wimbledon.
