Man Accused of YMCA Hostel Murder Appears at Old Bailey

The man accused of murdering 41-year-old Paul Dalton at the YMCA Hostel on Wimbledon Broadway earlier this year has appeared at the Old Bailey.

Mongo Bolili, aged 33, from Merton is accused of stabbing him to death in the early hours of 13 January. Mr Dalton was found with knife injuries after the police were called to reports of an assault in the hostel at 00:55am.

Despite the efforts of the emergency services, he was pronounced dead at the scene at 1.55am. A post mortem determined that the cause of death was a stab wound to his leg.

Mr Bolili appeared in court this Tuesday (6 April) and entered a not guilty plea.

27-year-old Ian Matu and 30-year-old Danny Webster pleaded not guilty to perverting the course of justice after being accused of concealing the knife used to kill Mr Dalton.

The three defendants were all residents of the hostel.

Two men, aged in their twenties, who were arrested at the scene and taken into custody were released with no further action.
