Local information events during National Adoption Week

Are you interested in adopting a child but need more information? Are you unsure where to start, or just want to find out more?

National Adoption Week runs from October 17 – 23 and Merton Council is running a number of drop-ins and adoption information meetings for people who are interested in finding out more about adoption.

The Merton adoption team will be on hand to answer questions, talk about children waiting to be adopted, dispel myths and encourage as many people as possible to pose for selfies with the #SupportAdoption sign to pledge their support on social media. You can search on Facebook for Merton Council and follow them on Twitter @Merton_Council).

Cabinet member for children’s services, Councillor Katy Neep said: “All children deserve to grow up in a loving home and we are ambitious here in Merton to provide that for all of our children.

“For those considering adoption I would urge you to come along to one of our information days to find out more and help us deliver on our ambition.”

Mitcham Library Tuesday 18 October 10.30am -1.30pm

Morden Library: Wednesday 19 October 10.30am to 4.30pm

Pollards Hill Library Thursday 20 October 10.30am to 1.30pm.

Adoption Information Meetings:

Thursday 27 October 5.30-7.30PM, Morden

Saturday 12 November 10am – 12 noon, Ewell

Tuesday 6 December, 11am-1pm, Morden.
