Trustees Make A Difference - Could You?

It's National Trustees' Week

This week has been National Trustees' Week – an annual celebration to showcase the contribution of trustees' and highlight opportunities for people from all walks of life to get involved and make a difference.

People often become trustees to 'give something back' but they gain too. Charities benefit from the range of skills and experience that their trustees bring and trustees can learn and develop new skills, meet like-minded people and experience an improved sense of wellbeing.

You can also read the stories of some trustees in Merton. Hayley James, Volunteering Strategy Programme Manager, said: "We wanted to make sure that Merton trustees are thanked for all their commitment and give people more opportunities to get involved.

"We're in the process of organising a programme of training for trustees which will be delivered early 2014. We want to support new and existing trustees and help them to be as effective as they can be...so watch this space!"
